Spikescale Dragon

This is the reason why you haven't heard from me in a while. (I need to do more WIP uploads.) I started this project during hurricane Sandy (October) and just finished it (February). I haven't been working on it continuously by any means, it's just rare that the rest of my life allows me time to myself in my art room.

Anyway, the dragon is made of polymer clay. It has a wire-frame base that has been wrapped in foil. I put together a bunch of WIP shots here: [link] Each scale was placed on individually. I lost count of the amount of hours this took, but I watched nearly the entire season 2 of "The Walking Dead" in the background while I worked on it. The eyes are little plastic (I think) gemstones you can get in any art store for decorating things. I used mostly metallic colors and his underside is all golden plated scales. (I'll upload a shot of it when I get a chance.)

This is basically another stepping-stone for my clay skills. I'm working my up to something more detailed.
